New witness in Madlanga Commission testifies via intermediary
The commission was adjourned two weeks ago after Crime Intelligence Head, Dumisani Khumalo fell ill.
The Madlanga Commission has resumed with a new witness known as Mr X taking the stand. The evidence leaders have been allowed to present the witness’s testimony through the voice of an intermediary and without video.
The commission was adjourned two weeks ago after Crime Intelligence Head, Dumisani Khumalo fell ill.
The witness has started outlining the scope of the evidence through the voice of a junior counsel, Thabang Pooe.
“On the 29th and 30th of September 2025, the divisional commissioner Lieutenant General Khumalo, delivered his evidence in the commission and he had set out that he would present chats between a Mr Matlala and five individuals. The individuals being a Mr Brown Mogotsi, Major General Senona, Brigadier Mkhwanazi, Mr Rafadi and Mr Kariem. Unfortunately, due to the General falling ill, he could not continue with his testimony. I therefore will present the remaining chats in that aspect.”
