De Kock unable to attend Cradock Four inquest: Lawyer

The lawyers of former-Apartheid Security Branch Officer Eugene de Kock confirmed that he would not be in court on Wednesday for the Cradock Four inquest due to health-related issues.

De Kock’s lawyer, Juan Schoeman, says he was diagnosed with heart failure last week Friday and was advised to rest for at least a month.

The lawyers representing the families of the Cradock Four and the Cradock Communities argue that it is unacceptable that de Kock cannot testify in the inquest.

Adv Howard Varny says that his advanced age makes time of importance very for justice to be served.

Presiding Judge Thami Beshe is expected to give her ruling on Tuesday afternoon.
