MKP rejects extension on Ramaphosa’s Ad Hoc Committee questions

The uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MKP) has rejected President Cyril Ramaphosa’s request to extend his submission of answers to Parliament’s Ad Hoc Committee’s written questions to next Monday.

The committee had previously sent him a list of written questions dealing with allegations of criminal infiltration, corruption and political interference in the justice system.

The committee’s MKP Member Sibonelo Nomvalo says Ramaphosa has been given sufficient time to answer the questions.

Nomvalo says, “So we are not taking this excuse of the 16th because here everyone is complaining about time, but the president is not complying with time. The 16th is too far, chairperson, the responses must be given now because if there are questions that have not been answered satisfactory we believe that we must be given an opportunity again for follow-up questions. Now, if the president responds when we are about to finish, then that means we are not going to have that opportunity.”
