Zuma Foundation warns public about unauthorised fundraising campaigns

The Jacob Zuma Foundation has cautioned the public against getting involved in unauthorised fundraising campaigns circulating online.

It says some people are claiming to raise money for the former President Jacob Zuma’s legal fees.

The Foundation says it has noted the recirculation of an old fundraising poster and stresses that no official fundraising drive has been authorised at this stage.

It’s urged supporters to wait for an official announcement before making contributions and warned against using its name or logo without permission.

This comes after the High Court in Johannesburg ordered Zuma to repay nearly R29 million in state funds for his personal legal costs

The Foundation says it will only comment further once consultations with Zuma’s legal team are concluded.
