The book reflects on Phosa's life story and that of the ANC
Former African National Congress (ANC) Treasurer-General, Dr.Mathews Phosa‘s memoir has been described as an answer to many of the questions about where the ANC lost its former glory.
The book lays bare the cracks in the national fabric, reflecting on Phosa’s life story and that of the ANC.
“Witness to Power” was launched at the Central University of Technology in Bloemfontein in the Free State on Friday night.
Phosa told audience that in his book he confesses to his role in the party’s success and failures, adding that none of the ANC leaders were angels.
“I had to write honestly and painfully. I’m gonna use the word painfully about a president who invented an imaginary plot to cover his own insecurities and another one who plunged us into unimaginable depths of corruption and depletion of state resources which we still have to recover I don’t know if we will ever recover.”
