Julius Mkhwanazi returns to the Madlanga Commission
Julius Mkhwanazi is implicated in corruption in the EMPD blue light saga involving Cat Matlala.
Suspended Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) Deputy Chief Julius Mkhwanazi is expected to return to the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry on Tuesday morning.
He returns to the stand after his testimony was postponed last month due to his mother’s death.
Mkhwanazi has been implicated in corruption in the EMPD blue light saga involving alleged crime cartel member Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala.
He has conceded before the commission that he was not authorised to enter into a memorandum of understanding with Matlala’s company, Cat VIP Security.
Mkhwanazi denied signing a separate letter of authority that allowed an endless working relationship with Matlala’s security company
He has also been accused of allegedly cleaning up a murder scene and has been implicated in copper cable theft in Meyerton, Gauteng.
