Eramet declares force majeure at Senegal mineral sands mine following a fire

French minerals resources company Eramet has declared force majeure at its Grande Côte (EGC) mineral sands operation, in Senegal, after a localised fire occured at the wet concentrator plant (WCP) on February 22. The fire, which resulted in the shutdown of the WCP, was extinguished on the same day, with technical investigations under way to determine the cause of the fire and to assess the conditions of the affected infrastructure.
