ATNS assures that air traffic services at OR Tambo International Airport are working normally

South Africa’s air traffic management and control agency, Air Traffic and Navigation Services (ATNS), has confirmed that air traffic services at Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International Airport (Ortia) operated normally and were stable yesterday. ATNS also assured that its staffing levels, in all key areas, were “adequate”. “The organisation can also confirm that it has valid operational instrument flight procedures at the airport to enable access and in cases of inadequacies, contingency measures are published to support operations,” further assured the agency. “ATNS remains committed to ensuring the safety, efficiency and reliability of air traffic services and will continue to provide updates should operational conditions change.”
