Changan South Africa is proud to announce a strategic partnership with Lindenberg Racing, one of South Africa’s most respected and enduring motorsport teams, for the 2026 racing season.

Effective from 1 March 2026 to 28 February 2027, the partnership will see Changan sponsor three vehicles to the team: Two Hunter Diesel AT 4×4 double cabs and one CS75 7-seater SUV. The vehicles will support Lindenberg Racing’s operations across Gauteng and the Western Cape, travelling to race weekends, industry events and community initiatives nationwide.

A Partnership Built on Legacy

Lindenberg Racing is a name synonymous with South African motorsport excellence. Established in 1976 and led by motorsport legend Peter Lindenberg, the team has accumulated decades of championship success while shaping the country’s racing culture and infrastructure. Nearly five decades on, the Lindenberg name remains a pillar of performance, precision, and credibility.

Changan’s story is equally rooted in heritage. With over 160 years of global engineering expertise, Changan has grown into one of the world’s largest automotive manufacturers, combining advanced technology with proven durability – recently surpassing 30 million drivers, worldwide. Now firmly re-established in the South African market, the brand continues to build momentum through products and alliances that reflect strength, innovation and reliability.

This partnership brings together two organisations defined by longevity, resilience and an unwavering commitment to performance.

Vehicles That Reflect the Mission

The Changan Hunter Diesel AT 4×4 is purpose-built for demanding environments – making it a natural fit for a racing team that operates across provinces, tracks and terrains. With its robust towing capability, intelligent 4×4 system and rugged characteristics, the Hunter delivers the strength and dependability required to transport equipment, support crews and manage the logistical demands of a gruelling national racing calendar.

From workshop to racetrack, the Hunter embodies durability under pressure – a quality shared by Lindenberg Racing’s competitive spirit.

Complementing the two Hunters is the Changan CS75 7-seater SUV. Spacious, refined and equipped with an award-winning “Blue Whale” powertrain, the CS75 will support team mobility, partner engagements and event attendance. Its blend of comfort, safety and smart connectivity reflects Changan’s commitment to modern engineering that serves both performance and people-moving practicality.

Together, these vehicles demonstrate how capability and refinement can coexist – much like the balance between heritage and forward-thinking innovation, that clearly defines both brands.

Beyond the Track

The partnership extends beyond race-day visibility. The Changan vehicles will feature across Lindenberg Racing’s social media platforms, public appearances, and major motorsport events, including the high-profile Simola Hillclimb and the ever popular, Festival of Motoring. Peter Lindenberg’s role as a respected industry figure further strengthens the credibility and ambassadorial value of the collaboration.

Importantly, both brands share a commitment to community impact. Lindenberg Racing’s involvement in charitable initiatives and local outreach aligns with Changan’s long-term vision of building meaningful relationships within the South African market.

Looking Forward – Driven To Evolve

As Changan continues to expand its footprint in South Africa, partnering with a team that has earned the trust of the motorsport community for nearly five decades marks a significant milestone. “This partnership represents more than vehicle sponsorship,” says Jameel Motors representative and Changan Country Manager, Marinus Vanter. “It brings together two brands built on heritage, driven by performance and focused on the future. We are excited to support Lindenberg Racing in the season ahead and look forward to achieving great milestones together.”

With engines set to fire for the 2026 season, Changan and Lindenberg Racing now move forward together – united by legacy, powered by performance and ready for the road ahead.
